Meet Lori!

Lori McLean is a self-taught jeweler and metalsmith with formal training in printmaking and design.

She began making jewelry in San Francisco in 1990, with a line known for its colorful planes of translucent enamel on textured silver backgrounds. In 2000, Lori was commissioned by the Museum of Modern Art to create an exclusive collection of jewelry based on the designs of Frank Lloyd Wright.

She moved her studio to Manhattan's TriBeCa neighborhood in the late 1990s, where she embarked on a new venture; curating a shop stocked with handmade jewelry from local artists. The West Village store opened in December of 2004.

In 2006, Lori retired her enamel jewelry line to focus on a line of fine jewelry and custom designs. The new line hearkens back to 18th and 19th century jewelry design, while staying true to what has always been her trademark: unique, wearable settings and finishes.

To better source the perfect vintage stones for her new collection, Lori studied stone setting with a Japanese master metalsmith in his Chelsea Studio. In 2011, she obtained a Graduate Certificate in Diamond Grading at the Gemological Institute of America.

All of Lori’s work is created entirely by hand in New York City. She is here for the modern bride, the eco-conscious consumer and all who are interested in simple, handmade treasures.
